LOUISVILLE, KY - April 20, 2006 Paragon Door Designs announces that it has joined a nationwide effort to help the environment and make homes more comfortable through participation in the ENERGY STAR® program for residential entry door manufacturers. This voluntary partnership sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE) helps homeowners save money, increase the comfort of their home, protect their valuable possessions from sun damage and use energy more efficiently through the installation of ENERGY STAR qualified entry doors. In addition, ENERGY STAR qualified entry doors may be eligible for up to $500 in tax credits under the Energy Policy Act of 2005. In order to earn the ENERGY STAR, entry doors must meet regional criteria for U-value and solar heat gain as rated by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC).
